Calling all Sudanese artists!

Dear artist friends,

We are very pleased to tell you about a fantastic offer that has been presented to us by the Italian Sarenco Foundation. The project “Imago Mundi” is a collection of catalogues promoting African art. It is sponsored and promoted by celebrated Italian fashion entrepreneur Luciano Benetton, whose vision is to encourage intercultural understanding through art. They have already produced catalogues on covered the countries of Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanzania and Senegal, and would now like to add artists from Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan. Sarenco is looking for 140 professional, young and upcoming artists to be featured in the catalogue for Sudanese art; each will be given one full page. Their biographies and work will also be published on the website of Fondazione Benetton Any technique is accepted: painting, drawing, collage, etc.

Prospective artists will be provided with a 10x12cm canvas and will be required to supply their own materials (brushes, paint, etc). In addition, they will need an artist’s biography and CV. Although there will be no compensation initially, all participating artists will be granted the opportunity to exhibit their work in an international exhibition taking place in Rome next year (2015). This is a great chance to promote your international image as an artist.

Here is an example of an identical project currently running in Egypt:

Please contact us as soon as possible at and we will let you know when you can come and meet the Sarenco representatives and collect your canvas.

See you soon!
